French cuisine is very important in the French culture. For the first time, a gastronomy is now a heritage of humanity. The experts of an intergovernmental committee of UNESCO considered that the French gastronomic meal, with its rituals and its presentation, fulfilled the conditions for joining the list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
In fact, the meal is deeply part of the French people, it’s a precious sharing moment.
The French cuisine is very diversified and take the best of different influences and do it better in a French way. Indeed, our gastronomy is the best of the world probably because of that.
Each region has its specialities depending on where they are. For example, in the North you will find the Flemish carbonade, the welsh… a lot of beer in every recipe, here it’s a big influence of Belgium and Dutch.

In the South-Est there are a lot of duck in all its forms, like duck confit, duck breast, often serve with roasted potatoes. And also the foie gras !

In the North-Est, there are two regions famous for their recipes : Normandie and Bretagne.
In Normandie there are different alcools and cocktails, like cider or le Calvados. In Bretagne you of course have the best crepes ever ! And the most fat and appetizing cake: the Kouign-amann : 100% of pure butter, delicious !

And finally, in general France is famous for its bread, pastries, wine, champagne and cheese.
If you come to France you can be sure that you will discover a lot of new flavor and you would never leave !
