A culinary trip through Brazil

Hi everyone! Today I am going to talk about Brazilian cuisine, one of the most exciting in the world.

The food from the fifth biggest country in the world is as diverse as its inhabitants. Receiving Indigenous, European and African influences, Brazil’s Culinaire is colorful and flavorful and it is known all over the world. Food is very important in Brazil, bringing friends, families and even strangers together in various social gatherings. One of the most popular is Churrasco, a barbecue that is popular in all social spheres.

While travelling through all five regions of Brazil you will notice that each one of them has their own specificities:

North

The main influence on this region’s cuisine is Indigenous, the protagonists are fish and very heavy spices.

Northeast

The Northeast is the tourist favorite destination and its cuisine has its main influences also in Indigenous people as well as in Africa, Portugal and the Netherlands.

Central-West

With Indigenous, African, Portuguese and Italian influence, this region’s food is one of the most colorful. And it is the one most similar to other Latino countries.

Southeast

The main protagonist of this region is the state of Minas Gerais with its pão de queijo (cheesy bread) and doce de leite.

South

The most European of all regions, the South has influence from countries like Germany and Italy and has a lot of Churrasco.
